The moment the Westcott Designs lift kit was installed, I couldn't wait until the wheels were put on. However I goofed and didn't realize new lug nuts were needed so I had to wait a few extra days.
I went with the Toyo AT3 Standard Load tires because I want a compliant ride on the pavement. Take note that if you go with a C or D load rated AT3, the sidewall is much more aggressive. I am jealous but I am happy with my choice. I didn't want something too aggressive in terms of tire size, so I went with the common 285/70/17 size that most guys run. Any larger and I hear you should do regearing, etc and I dont want anything too extreme.
The Volk Racing wheels are forged and lightweight. Believe it or not, despite the new wheel setup being an inch taller and inch wider (both wheel and tire) than stock, each corner weights 3lbs less than stock! The finish is a "blast black" which is a matte finish, perfect match for the Xpel Stealth film! Size is 17x8.5 (inch wider than stock) with a -10 offset. I also got the matching caps from Ray's, Sadly only available in black chrome but it's better than not running any caps. I removed the Spidertrax 1.25" spacers as I knew there wheels would be just as flush as the stock wheels with the spacers installed. While I do think the poke could look cool, I would definitely need the BMC and possibly some more bumper trimmings so I decided to hold off for now.
Overall I am thrilled with the look. The truck sits at a perfect height now and really looks the part. Its aggressive without being anything crazy. The wheel is flush and the tire bulges out to the right level. This is coming together so well!
