The day these SSC2 pods landed, I immediately pulled the truck in and started planning the installation.
The Diode Dynamics Ditch Light Bracket kit is 100% bolt on. Uses the 2 factory hood mount bolts to connect. Allows plenty of clearance between the pods and front windshield. It's very well thought out, including zip tie holds to make sure your wiring is nice and clean.
You can mount up the pod of your choice on these brackets. For me it was a toss up between the SS3 and SSC2. I wanted something compact and also thought the back lighting feature was awesome, so I went with the SSC2 Pro, in white, with an amber back light.
You can type in any of these SKU's into the search bar of the Lightwerkz site and you will find what you are looking for.
These SSC2's are wired directly to my trigger controller through a custom harness. The model specific ditch light kits come with a wiring harness that will allow you to control back lighting and main light source. I wired up the back lighting feature to the wiring I had already ran for the trigger controller 12V+ switched power source. So anytime ignition is on, the amber back lighting is also activated. With these crystal clear spot lenses, the amber back lighting is not as bright as I had hoped it to be. Perhaps with a flood, fog, or combo lens, the back lighting would be more prominent. Then again, maybe I need to understand it is a back light after all and not meant as a main light source of any kind.
Check it out and let me know what you think!
